Neue Unified Computing Strategie mit VMWARE
Cisco erhält weitreichende Unterstützung bei der Verwirklichung der am Montag vorgestellten Unified Computing-Strategie. So gab VMware den Abschluss eines strategischen OEM-Abkommens bekannt, das die Entwicklung von Produkten sowie integrierte Vertriebs- und Support-Strategien beinhaltet, auch EMC weitet seine bestehende Allianz mit Cisco aus.
Neben VMWare und EMC konnte Cisco für seine Unified Computing-Plattform noch eine Reihe weiterer Technologie-Partner an Bord holen, darunter Branchengrößen wie BMC Software, Microsoft, Netapp, Novell, Oracle, Red Hat, SAP, Qlogic und Emulex.

Der neue HHC-Adapter (Headset Hookswitch Control) von Plantronics für Cisco Unified IP-Telefone ermöglicht neben der Anrufbenachrichtigung auch die bequeme Gesprächsannahme/-beendigung mit schnurlosen Headsets. Neu an der Lösung ist dass die mechanische Wippe am Telefon entfällt.Nutzer können sich bis zu 100 Metern von Ihrem Telefon entfernen und sich so frei im Raum bewegen, ohne dabei einen Anruf zu verpassen. Die EHS-Lösung ist mit den Cisco Unified IP-Telefonmodellen 7975G, 7965G, 7945G, 7962G und 7942G kompatibel. Voraussetzung ist die Callmanager-Version 4.1(3) oder höher sowie die Firmware-Version 8.3(3) oder höher. Der HHC-Adapter ist voraussichtlich ab Mai erhältlich.

SQL injection in Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5 und 6 |

Cisco Unified Communications Manager is vulnerable to a SQL Injection attack in the parameter key of the admin and user interface pages. A successful attack could allow an authenticated attacker to access information such as usernames and password hashes that are stored in the database.
Cisco has released free software updates that address this vulnerability.
Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) identifier CVE-2008-0026 has been assigned to this vulnerability.

Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), formerly CallManager, contains two overflow vulnerabilities that could allow a remote, unauthenticated user to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition or execute arbitrary code.
A workaround exists for one of the vulnerabilities.
Cisco has made free software available to address these vulnerabilities for affected customers.
